Oldest of 5. Sia Marie Xiong was fatally shot and was rushed to the hospital with a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead there. The family is calling for the 28-year-old’s death to be investigated as a possible hate crime amid a recent rise in violence against Asian Americans. She left behind a 3-year-old son, Shakur. of Cambodian, Black and Native American descent. Her family member shares, "She was a free-spirited person, filled with a whole lot of love and compassion. It's really hard for me to understand, for somebody to hate her so bad to want to kill her.”
